Wyoming Is Specific About What an Address Is Not

Most states say the registered office must be a physical address in the state and leave it there. Wyoming keeps going, and the specificity is the useful part.

Read together, Wyoming has described a place with a door, opening hours, and somebody behind it who is contractually on the hook for taking delivery. It has not described a mailbox, a forwarding arrangement, or a lockbox in a lobby.

There is a reason for the fussiness. A large share of Wyoming companies are run from other states or other countries, and a register full of distant owners only works if a lawsuit still has a real place to land. The drop box ban is that principle written down in the least glamorous possible way.
